Pain Perdu

INGREDIENTS: sliced white bread

4 eggs

1/4 cup white sugar

splash of vanilla



  1. In a bowl, whisk together the eggs, sugar, and vanilla. Slice the bread into halves.

  2. In a skillet on medium-high heat, melt 2 tablespoons of butter.

  3. Dip each slice of bread into the egg mixture and place into the skillet; let cook for 2-3 minutes per side or until it begins to brown. Repeat until all the bread is cooked.

  4. Serve warm with syrup
