King Cake (Cinnamon and Cream Cheese)



INGREDIENTS:

3 packages cinnamon rolls

whipped cream cheese (optional)

purple sugar sprinkles gold sugar sprinkles

green sugar sprinkles

ICING:

2 cups powdered sugar

1/4 cup milk *SEE BELOW*

2 teaspoons vanilla


DIRECTIONS:

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit. Butter a sheet pan and set aside.

  2. Unroll the individual cinnamon rolls, and add a layer of the whipped cream cheese. Roll them back up and gently press down to shape them into ovals.

  3. Place the prepared rolls into a ring on the buttered sheet pan, baked for 15-20 minutes or until the inside is cooked.

  4. Remove and let cool.

  5. While the cake cools, add the powdered sugar and vanilla to a stand mixer or bowl with a hand mixer. Slowly add the milk and until combined and thin enough to drizzle! You may need more than 1/4 cup to reach your desired consistency.

  6. Once the cake is cooled, drizzle with icing and cover with the sprinkles! Serve warm :)
