Fried Catfish


2 pounds catfish filets

3 cups flour

3 heaping spoonfuls dijon mustard

12 ounces seasoned fish fry

vegetable oil, for frying

cayenne pepper

cajun seasoning

garlic powder

onion powder

black pepper

hot sauce


  1. In a large bowl, combine the fish, seasonings, and hot sauce. Coat the fish well, cover with aluminum foil and refrigerate overnight.

  2. Preheat the oil to 350° F. In a separate bowl, combine the flour, fish fry mix, and season to taste.

  3. In a bowl, coat the fish in the mustard, and then cover each filet in the breading and fry 3-5 minutes; until golden brown. Drain on paper towels.

  4. Serve hot!
