Crock Pot Smothered Pork Chops


INGREDIENTS: 4-5 bone in pork chops

cajun seasoning

cayenne pepper

mustard powder

1 yellow onion, sliced

4 ounces baby bella mushrooms, sliced or diced

5-9 cloves garlic, minced

32 ounces broth (chicken, beef, or vegetable)

1 10.5 ounce can golden mushroom soup + 1 can water

1 packet Lipton Onion Soup Mix

3 tablespoons olive oil

4 tablespoons butter


DIRECTIONS:

  1. In a bowl or on a pan, season the pork chops to your liking. The seasonings listed above are what I used, feel free to change!

  2. In a cast iron skillet, heat the olive oil on medium heat. Sear the pork chops on each side til browned. They don't beed to be fully cooked here.

  3. In the same skillet, melt the butter and saute the onions and mushrooms for 15-20 minutes on medium heat. Add the garlic and saute for another 3 minutes.

  4. In your crockpot, add the broth, soup, water, and soup mix. Combine. Add in the pork chops, onions, mushrooms, and garlic. Make sure everything is covered by liquid; add more water if necessary.

  5. Cook on LOW for 4-6 hours or HI for 2-3 hours.

  6. Serve over rice!
