Blackberry Cobbler

INGREDIENTS: 1 quart blackberries, rinsed

1 cup granulated white sugar

1 cup flour

1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder

1 teaspoon salt

5 tablespoons butter, melted



DIRECTIONS:

  1. In a large bowl, combine the blackberries and white sugar. Mix well and set aside. This will become thick and syrup-y in about 20 minutes.

  2. In a separate bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, salt, and melted butter. Mix well. This mixture will be dry and crumbly, you want it that way!

  3. In a greased baking dish or cast iron skillet, pour the blackberries in. Sprinkle the flour mixture right on top. It won't cover the entire thing, and that's ok!

  4. Bake at 375 degrees F for 50 minutes to an hour.

NOTES: I like to turn the broiler on for a few minutes for an extra crispy top!
